Here’s the Land Cruise Motorhome Hire guide to campsites in the New Forest. Wild camping in the New Forest is not permitted, but if you would like to park right in the heart of the forest with the ponies and other animals milling around you, you can’t do much better than the Camping in the Forest sites. Our favourites are Hollands Wood – a stroll away from the picturesque village of Brockenhurst – and Setthorns – a peaceful secluded site close to Sway.
All of the camp sites clustered around the village of Brockenhurst are great, but this one has spotless facilities that one expects from the Caravan Club.
It is five minutes walk to the village shops, pubs and restaurants.
You can also walk out of your Motorhome and explore 140 miles of track on foot, cycle or on horseback in the New Forest whilst never tiring of seeing the ponies and other animals.
If you like things a little quieter, it is worthwhile seeing if you can get in the Caravan Club Certificated Location site at Ford Farm Stables.
Stay there the night but also stock up on some great wines and other locally made drinks and delicious produce bearing the New Foresat marque including the award winning Lyburn cheeses.
Green Hill Farm Holiday Park is a peaceful hide-away site on the edge of the New Forest. One is for families to enjoy and the other is for adults only. The clubhouse serves breakfasts and lunches and you can use the showers and toilets there when open during the day.It is within the National Park and has its own direct access to the forest. If you would like a few activities on your holiday, the 50 acre New Forest Water Park has water-skiing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, banana and tyre rides. A back to basics, get away from it all kind of campsite next to the forest and the village of Minstead. The park is located in a quiet area of woodland and grassland away from the road. Acres Down Farm is a working farm that keeps cows, pigs, sheep and chickens. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s grave is under a large tree at the back of the 13th century All Saints’ church. Surrounded by the stunning natural scenery of the New Forest National Park, Sandy Balls Holiday Centre is an award-winning destination for families. It is the ideal backdrop for outdoor activities, including walking, cycling, horse-riding, kayaking, fishing and even ice-skating.The Centre offers a fully-equipped gym, swimming pools, a jacuzzi and sauna, plus beauty suite.
